A word about Carlos Boozer

Some of today's headlines read as follows:

"Home sales, prices in deep plunge"
"As Economy Dips, Arrests for Shoplifting Soar"
"In Budget Crises, States Reluctantly Halt Road Projects"
"Car Slump Jolts Toyota, Halting 70 Years of Gain"

With jobless claims at the highest in years, the housing market in a total tail-spin, and many families struggling to put food on the table let alone presents under the tree, Carlos Boozer has the ovaries to say that he wants to leave the Jazz and that he "[is] going to get a raise regardless". I wonder if he hasn't had too much bench time to think, or maybe the drugs they are giving him for his many ailments are going to his head.

Does Carlos even enjoy playing basketball or is it all about the money? Maybe he should have been a school teacher or done something that was going to make him happy, then again, I don't know a school teacher who makes over 65,000 a year let alone 12.7 million.

I can't fathom the logic in his timing or his proposal. He is injured, he has shown a pattern of being injured often (so much so that people are beginning to think he is faking injuries), he isn't a playoff performer, and its the middle of the season. Not to mention that the economy is the worst its been in decades. I'm afraid Carlos has ZERO grasp on reality and can no longer be a people's player. He's entered the ranks of the self-centered, thoughtless, greedy players.

Now, what to do with our fallen star? From the beginning of the season I have been saying that we need to bundle Boozer up with one of our other guys and see if we cant get someone like Przybilla or someone similar. Anyone with work ethic and a little bit of health will be much better than the alternative. (eg keeping an injury list player and getting the luxury tax in return)

Enjoy your paycheck Carlos, that's all you will have to show for your vain efforts.
